Welcome to June 20-10

How many times do you hear – “it must be perfect” “The event has to be perfect”?  Personally, I dislike the word “perfect” – it denotes that no mistakes can be made and failure is not tolerated. This is further complicated because the perception of “perfect” also varies between people, moods and situations.

I like to use “excellence” because it allows us to follow our plan and ideas as well as we can. And it lets us learn from, and improve on our mistakes. So much stress is used and time lost in being perfect - it is really difficult enough to be excellent.  We do grow from our mistakes and they do help us move forward, as long as our attitude is to learn, to accept and to commit to success. We call this ‘Failing Forward.”

John Maxwell: has Four Rules - To Fail forward:

1. You will learn lessons (sometimes you win and sometimes you learn)
2. There are no mistakes – just lessons
3. A lesson is repeated until it is learnt
4. If you don’t learn the easy lessons they get harder

It is almost impossible to achieve perfection – but it is possible to become excellent at what we do.

Have an excellent June and I hope the lessons you learn will improve your tomorrow’s…..Mario
