Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus
Type 2 Diabetes is a lifestyle disease and is strongly associated with high blood pressure, high cholesterol and extra weight around the waist. Persons afflicted with type 2 have elevated glucose levels and is regarded as an extreme form of Insulin Resistance. Type 2 usually affects persons of mature age, however between 1984-1999 the number of people diagnosed, including young adults, has tripled.
